Hi there, any idea on your part, what might happen when bringing a european breed named Saarloos Wolfdog to the US. They are about 30 % wolf. Are they considered wild animals, wolves or domsticated, like they are in Europe ?
Hi Alex! Saarloos are considered to be a domestic dog. Wolf was reintroduced into their bloodline long enough back that the influence of that reintroduction is relatively moot. There are a couple of other dog breeds that had wolf reintroduced in “recent” history that are also considered domestic dogs even if “wolf dog” is in their name. This has lead to the community to call them other nicknames to avoid confusion.
I hope this helps!!!!
