What is the Group Volunteer Program?

This is a work exchange program for groups to get out of the city and into nature! Our focus is to connect individuals more deeply with themselves and their peers by working directly with the Wild Spirit team on sanctuary projects, engaging in conservation education with and about the wolves, and learning personable skills to take into everyday life. We have many staff members who have come from all walks of life and are excited to share their personal experiences and how they found themselves working with wolves!

Your group may be interested in a day visit, but we are also offering multi-night accommodations in our new campground right across the street from the sanctuary. And yes! That means falling asleep to the zero light pollution night sky and the song of the wolves.

What activities does the program include?

             1. Group Introduction and Tour of Wild Spirit

             2. Animal Behavior; Phenotyping; Conservation Talk Circle

             3. Hands on labor projects

             4. Animal Meal Distribution

             5. Animal Encounters

             6. Keeper Chats

             7. Authentic Relating Games with WS Staff

             8. Fire and S’mores Circle (fire ban depending)

Additional Information

Wild Spirit Wolf Sanctuary has a dedicated team from a variety of backgrounds who are ready to support and amplify your experience. As every group will have different needs and desires, we will do our best to accommodate you while always keeping the needs of the animals first. A daily schedule may outline the day-to-day plan for your group, and for the sanctuary as a whole; but please note all schedules are tentative and may change due to the availability of staff and/or unforeseen circumstances. It is also acknowledged that groups may have their own itineraries and activities outside of WSWS participation planned into the day.
