| Located in the high-desert country of Candy Kitchen, New Mexico, Wild Spirit Wolf Sanctuary provides a permanent home to over fifty wolves and wolf-dogs. Our mission is three-fold: to educate the public, to rescue abused and abandoned captive-bred wolves and wolf-dogs and to provide our residents with permanent, safe Sanctuary. |

We've scheduled the 3rd Annual Halloween Bash for Saturday, October 25th and are starting to take reservations now. If you made it last year, this year's going to be bigger and better!
Here's the tentative schedule: 1:00 - 4:30 Hear presentations from animal organizations such as Hawks Aloft, NM Raptors INC, and Kokopelli Reptiles in the courtyard, compete in a Jack-o-Lantern Carving Contest, help us stuff pumpkins full of tasty-goodies for the wolves, or join in on many of the other activities in the courtyard. The winners of the Jack-o-Lantern contest will have the chance to have their pictures taken with an ambassador wolf later in the day! 4:30 - 5:30 Watch the wolves dive into pumpkins and have a howlin' good time! 5:30 - 6:30 Meet one of the Amabassador Wolves hands-on, and learn about wolves from our Director! 6:30 - 8:00 Visit with the staff as you chow down during the BBQ. 8:00 - 9:30 Go on a spooky night tour of the Sanctuary where you'll learn about such characters such as Fenrir, Little Red Riding Hood, and more! 9:30 Warm up with hot cocoa and an interactive story during a campfire program. 10:15 At the end of the campfire, call it a night, or stay as we celebrate the lives of the animals who have passed away this year. When the night is done, pitch a tent in our primitive campground, bring the RV, check-in to one of the local cabins, or head back on the road! |

When a wolf or wolf-dog comes to WSWS, he or she is provided with life-time Sanctuary. Our animals are kept in compatible pairs or family groups in large wooded enclosures ranging from 5,000 square feet to one acre. All enclosures contain shelters and many include ponds. All of our wolves and wolf-dogs are offered only the best diet, vitamin supplementation and medical care available. |

Our mission is first and foremost to educate the public about the wild wolf, as well as wolves and wolf-dogs in captivity. Our Wolf Ambassadors travel around the state and nearby areas to meet people at events and in classrooms. We offer first-hand knowledge that wolves are not the "big bad wolf" of fairy tales such as Little Red Riding Hood. On-site tours allow people to better understand our mission and why sanctuaries like ours are necessary. |

Between one and seven people call each day asking us to accept a wolf or wolf-dog. Many of these animals are in neglectful situations, have faced abuse, were abandoned multiple times and/or are confronted with no other choice than euthanasia. We are able to rescue a small number of these animals and specialize in the "tough cases" that cannot go anywhere else. |
| Wild Spirit Wolf Sanctuary is a 501(c)3 Non-Profit corporation liscensed and regulated by the USDA, as well as a Class C exhibitor. The Sanctuary is funded primarily by private donations and receives no government funding. |
