Crystal Castellanos, Assistant Director

As Assistant Director, Crystal is our “boots on the ground”, overseeing all day-to-day operations here at Wild Spirit Wolf Sanctuary. She is involved in every aspect of WSWS life, has a relationship with almost every rescue, and is the go-to person for any problem, question, or uncertainty. Undoubtedly, her responsibilities are plentiful and she carries quite a lot on her shoulders – however, Crystal never falters in her love and dedication to WSWS and our rescues, no matter how busy her days are.

Wild Spirit Wolf Sanctuary is a home, not only for our rescues and the occasional resident dog or cat, but for the people here, too. That includes Crystal, and she has truly come to see Wild Spirit as her sanctuary, too. Her house, or “den”, is close by, and she awakes each morning to the wolves singing. It’s a reminder of her personal mission here: to give the best life possible to the canine residents of our sanctuary and in doing so, help WSWS flourish as a sanctuary, business, retreat and educational facility.

A message from the Assistant Director:
I’m thankful to be surrounded by many who devote their time to ensuring these rescues receive lifetime sanctuary. Our pack consists of a family of people who are just as wild-spirited as the animals they live and work for. We couldn’t do it without our Animal Care, Building & Maintenance, Web Development, Gift Shop, Member Services and Social Media departments!

Our pack not only consists of those who live and breathe Wild Spirit, but it includes you, our valuable members and dedicated supporters. It’s because of you that we are able to give sanctuary to canids in need, give them a quality and enriched life, and to ensure that we can continue educating the public about our mission and spread the message, “Wild Animals Are Not Pets”.

I wish there were other words than “thank you” to express how much gratitude I feel for every human who joins us on our soapbox and endures the tough but very gratifying work we do. Cheers to the future and cheers to our human pack! Together, we are all making a difference in the lives of these much-deserving canids.
